here's what I think...
We as women have been tricked for far too long.
We’ve been made to believe that uncomfortable symptoms and being “hormonal”
are just an unfortunate, but normal, part of having a uterus.
I am here to put a stop to that narrative, Once and for all.
It’s time we realize that these seemingly ‘common’ issues are not normal and there are things we can do to help support our bodies and health no matter how small or large your symptoms may seem.
Trust me, you can have it all and you can feel good while doing it.
Yeah, I've been there too.
I always considered myself to be pretty healthy, even when Big Mac combos and Grande Caramel Frappuccino’s with oat fudge bars from Starbucks were my weekly go to’s. I would spend weekends out drinking with friends, staying up late and then managing a full-time job AND full-time studies but I liked vegetables and fruits, so it all balanced itself out…that’s at least what I told myself.
Mild yet persistent acne, frequent headaches, low energy and bloating were pretty common for me but everyone complained about those things so it all just seemed like a normal part of life. I had uncomfortable and irregular periods but…. that’s just how it’s supposed to be when you’re a woman, right? Going on birth control at least took care of those problems, whereas Advil and sugary treats helped with some of the other things (or so I thought).
Overall, I honestly would have told you that I felt fine back then.
I have my mother to thank for opening me up to the world of holistic nutrition when she set out to heal her growing fibroids naturally instead of getting a hysterectomy as was recommended. My interest was piqued with the information that she would share with myself and my family. I couldn’t believe that the foods we ate could have such an impact on our health and that the discomforts that I, and many others, were experiencing could be a result of what we were eating and the lifestyles we led. Fibroids were also common on my mother’s side of the family and finding out that there were things I could do to prevent the likelihood of getting them was eye-opening.
The idea that proper nutrition could be used to support the body and eliminate symptoms AND also help prevent symptoms from ever arising in the first place was life changing.
I experienced this firsthand when I started changing up the way I ate and saw my headaches dissipate, my period become completely regular and painless (only after going off of birth control though, but that’s a story for another time), bloating was a thing of the past, my energy improved, and my skin cleared.
I also used the power of food and specific herbs when my pap test came back abnormal and I was diagnosed with CIN1. Through proper nutritional support I was able to reverse the abnormal cells on my cervix on my own while all my doctor had told me was to “sit and wait” because there was nothing to be done unless it got worse.
You don’t have to sit and wait until what you’re experiencing gets worse and it is never too late or too early to find your body’s full potential. No matter what you may be feeling, however large or small, it is a message from your body trying to tell you that something is off.
Now, I get to guide women through their own health journeys all while showing them that health doesn’t have to be as complicated as some make it out to be and that with a few simple shifts it is truly possible to feel amazing in your body every single day.
